Elizabeth

Elizabeth let me try a few different lighting techniques. The 1st 2 are in the open shade. The 3rd is direct sun at sun-set with her face turned away from the sun slightly trying to get a "Rembrant" style shot.

Canter in the Carolinas

I had the wonderful opportunity to take pictures at Canter in the Carolinas, which is a rehabilitation center for retired race horses. Suzanne Konefal does a wonderful job working with these horse and giving them a second chance at life. It was a great experience to be there.

Martha & Barry

Martha & Barry were my 1st couples shot. This session was so much fun, they were great to work with. I got some great shots

Victoria & Noble

Elizabeth in the Snow

Elizabeth braved the cold to let me get a few shots. I love her face, but I blew out the snow and i should have had her wear my pink ski jacket. If we get some more snow this winter I'd like to try this shot again, if she lets me :)

Victoria at Nick's Creek

I wanted to find new location for portraits, one where we could get the sunset, yet wasn't very populated. Nick's Creek fit the bill.

Elizabeth & the Urban Jungle

Elizabeth braved the cold & rain to let me get in a couples of shots. I love her expression and the tilt. The shot may be a little busy for some, but I liked it. I plan to get some more shots at this spot once the weather warms up.

Elizabeth at Little River

Taken in the barn at Little River. An attempt at B&W conversion.

Anna

Anna one of my neighbors children and a former Girl Scout of mine. I love her ice blue eyes.

Boy in the Red Cap

This was taken at the Southern Pines Christmas parade. The boy and girl were looking down the street waiting for the parade, the boy turned to look the other way and I got this shot. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time is all it takes.

Victoria & the Guitar

One of my 1st uses of a prop. This is my favorite shots of Victoria. Taken at the barn at Little River just as the sun set behind the trees.

Elizabeth & Backlighting

This is one of my 1st attempts at Backlighting. Taken September of 2010. It wasn't a bad shot, but I chopped her arm and the sky is blown.
